Any of you good people out there be able to point me in the right direction for a tripod for me camera phone for selftakes. Its got to be really compact so it can fit in a small rucksack. I currently have a Samsung A10 phone does anyone know if theres a function on there ( some sort of timer I would of thought) where I could do selftakes? Or would I need App?

Depends what OS you've got, for Android the app called whistle works as you just whistle for it to take a picture or video. All hands free and no other things needed. If you're on iPhone you'll have to dig about on the app store and find what you need.

I just modified a car holder to fit a bank stick so it's pretty flat to pack away, I use a blue tooth remote of ebay to activate remote takes

A bank stick, phone holder off Amazon or eBay and a Gardner camera adapter will do the job with minimal cost and will take up minimal space also.

That's all okay if the ground is soft, it all changes when the banks are like concrete. Best and easiest solution is a tripod.

I have been doing the same and it works very well, light and compact.

I brought one from EBay and was sceptical about only paying £17 and what it would be like, works just fine for my iPhone 11 as it did for the iPhone 8 I had previously. Compact and easy to use 👍

when I went on holiday in the Philippines it seemed every one had one of these to take their selfies with group shots etc very compact
but not very stable on uneven ground but a bivvy peg or a bag of boiles sorts that out
its called a Yunteng VCT-1688 and comes with a neat little remote control too max height is 1.33m but adjustable to any height
crappy video but gives an idea LINKY POO
I really like the quality phone holder not like the cheap crappy spring ones

Not the same but a similar idea to the Yunteng VCT-1688 I mentioned earlier.
I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it as it's been talked about on here before
