Been invited down to white acres. Going fish pats pool and nelsons anyone fished them if so whats the bottom like silt/weed/sandy ETC!

Hi. Years since I fished it . But seem to remember they were man made lakes with clay type bottoms. Did well on halibut pellets. Enjoy

Years since I was there but I caught a few in the early morning and evenings using the house pellets sold on site.

Used to fish it a lot, Nelson's usually quieter but weedy. Pats fairly clear with some decent cats too.

Sorry if response is a bit late, but only just joined this forum. We used to go there on holiday in October half term, a bit of a trek from Cheshire, but worth it. Haven't been for 5 years or so. We fished Pats (once) and Nelsons (lots of times). Pats is the more difficult pool, hence the reason for fishing Nelsons.
Caught lots from Nelsons, my son had a 20lb+ common, loads of doubles including a 19lb Pale Gold Coloured Ghostie/Koi thing. We simply fished a boilie bottom bait with a few pouchfuls of free offerings around (same boilies as hookbait). Use a good quality hookbait and jobs a good un. We used Mainline Hybrid initially and more recently Baitworks Atlantic Heat. Nelsons was the quieter lake, because it was a bit remote, but I think since we were there last, they have built some accommodation by the lake.
Found both lakes had a firm bottom, but we were only there late October. Loads of features in both lakes.
