I can only comment on the last few I have owned
Dell
I have had two HP elite books at work and these have been absolutely superb, faultless I am no PC geek at all but personally I would recommend them highly, saying that they were the elite versions

I use a MacBook Air and a Surface Pro. The Surface Pro is well designed, well built and far nicer to use than I thought it would be (my first Windows machine outside of work desktops). They are a bit limited with their connections but coming from a MBP you'll know about that already.

No had any problems with Dell laptops myself not sure of the exact model but mine is a XPS with an i7 processor and solid state drive. The i7 is probably OTT for me as all I do mostly is surf.
I would've thought most makes are reliable for hardware nowadays if anything is to go wrong it's normally the software which can affect any machine.

I got stung with one from pc world.
Got it home and it just kept playing self pitying middle of the road ballads
Took it back and the guy just said it was my fault cause I'd bought a dell....

I bought a recon dell on ebay a few months ago, cost me less than £100 and it does all I need it to. I was recommended to do that by a friend who knows her stuff when it comes to computers and she said most people spend way too much and go for a far higher spec than they actually need

I have an older surface pro 3. Love it. You will need the keyboard though if doing alot of work.
Still have a 10 year old dell inspiron which is going strong, no 5g wifi but nevet had an issue with it.
