Hi guys,
Bought the above yesterday to try tomorrow after using all the other types mentioned enough times else where.
This is not a which is best thread.
The one I bought yesterday came with a swivel clip type of arrangement attached to the end.
Everyone else I have seen using one are fixing them directly to the plastic eyelet on the spod.
My question is, are other users removing the metal clip, if so why.
This is a brand new spomb from my local tackle shop.
Any help will be very much appreciated. I don't want to fix to the metal clip if there is some sort of issue with them and have a disaster on the first chuck.

None of the DOT's I've had (which is maybe 4 or 5 now) have come with a metal clip or swivel.

I've got 2 neither of which have the metal clip either.
There are both brought around year ago

Thanks bud, will remove it to be on the safe side.
Just wondering wether it was some sort of tweak to improve its performance further.

One of mine came with a clip. I replaced it as it looked a bit flimsy with a heavier one. Did think of attaching braid direct but was worried it might cut through.

Mines also come with one after a replacement crack off 🙈 I've used the swivel now Upto 100 yards and it's sound

My original DOT spod didn't come with one before Nash started selling them but I fitted a big quick change sea fishing swivel on it as found tightening braid down on the plastic part found it didn't grip great so wasn't happy and found with the swivel attached much better
