I'm looking to get a go pro of some sort just for a bit of recording while playing fish and so on. I'd like a waterproof on with a descent battery life. Do any of you guys use a go pro or something similar ? What would you guys recommend ? Don't wont to spend loads of money but something half desent

SJCAMs are really good. I've got the SJ7 legend I think and it's brilliant.

On the go pro,s you get a plastic case which is waterproof you put the camera inside the case and you can record under water ect

Gopros are a decent bit of kit if used correctly. Try and get one that is 2.7k Resolution and over, the older 1080p ones can be a bit soft.
I'd say there are copies out there that do the same but I've only ever seen the hyper cheap (£30 ish)versions and their image quality is poor.
Just don't be like me and spend all the money on one and use it once every couple of years

i have a go pro hero 5 and I barely use it for fishing but recently what I have done is strapped it to the back of my nash bushwhacker pole and were my spots are not to deep and water is clear I can check to see if fish on the spot / if the bait has been had or is still left which I think is pretty cool

I use an SJ4000. I have it running all the time whilst on the bank (daylight only) running it from a powerbank and using a number of micro SD Cards for the data. I have a case that allows a power connection and has slots in the back for audio. Its rain proof but not waterproof. I record in 1080 at 30fps. The video is excellent. I have every daylight take since 2015. Been doing it for a number of years now for my own video log.
I have two SJ4000's and they have been faultless. If buying an SJCam do make sure you are getting a pukka one. There used to be fakes about which were crap. The real ones - excellent and waaay cheaper than a GoPro.
