Im after some 10 footers, whats the difference between the two wychwood models.
They are going to be used to cast max 75-80 yds for fish upto mid 30s (hopefully), what would you recommend

Id say the Soniks but good luck finding a set as everywhere sold out.

I have some 10' Extricator MLT full cork. Good for the money. Handle is short, more rings than on a normal carp rod. I had six fish up to low twenties recently and they could easily have handled bigger fish. 75-80 yards shouldn't be a problem. I haven't seen the Riot rods in the flesh so can't compare them.
The Extricator Plus looks to be build more like a carp rod if you prefer that, but they cost more.

I have owned both and prefer the wychwood riots purely because they actually bend. The extricators were more of a hook and hold rod in tight conditions whilst the riots were more of a general rod. Picked up a set of 3 full duplon riots for £100 new, so a right result

Thanks mate. Im only going to be using them in a few tight swims on my syndicate so dont want to splash out on expensive rods
If i was going to pay up for the plus model, then i may as well go tackle box and get the ctx's

I've had the riots, extricators and the cfx. I prefer the riot over the extricator due to the action and prefer the cfx over the riots but they are a lot more money. Couldn't really fault the riots for what they cost

In your opinion are the CTX worth paying up for over the riots?
I dont mind paying up but they wont be used as my main rods

I've got an MLT 10' that I use for floater fishing, it's a nice little rod albeit a bit stiff but I've had fish to over 30lb on it and it dealt with them without any problems. I like it....

I use 10fters all the time so the Cfx's were worth the money. However the riots would be fine
