What's the thoughts on another re-release, or is that a re-re-release of the SS 3000? These reels seem to be insanely popular commanding higher prices than new.

Could this happen again?

I think they look better than tourneys, it wouldn't surprise me if they did. Although I would have thought it would be better to have done that rather than the black 5000t

I asked Daiwa about a year ago and they said there were no plans to re-release, (or is that re-re-release ) the SS3000 in the future. You never know obviously...............the demand would be there for sure!

It would be very easy for Daiwa to do and also the ss1000, but I think the marketing value for Daiwa is higher if they keep the cult status on these reels.
I love my tournies (5000t) but I do wonder how much a reel like that would cost if it wasn't for the cult status. 200+ quid seems a lot for a reel that has been in production for so long.

Think you are right. I would imagine they sell a lot of Tournies on the back of the SS3000 cult status.
