After using an average greys spod rod for as long as I can remember I want a new spod rod , it's a great old rod for medium distances but just lacks that bit extra I need on occasion .
Looking for recommendations guys maybe the a Free spirit model is the way to go to match my Hi S I've ER's ? Looking for a long range rod , not medium , cheers

I wouldnt waste your money on a hi s one to match your rods unless you really want them to match. Ive had hi s spod rods soley to match my hi s rods when i had them. I recently bought a e class gold long range spod rod which is a lot less than half the price of the hi s spod rod i had and its easily as capable of the same distance as the hi s probably even more so as it has a slightly higher test curve.

Can't think of what's mine is s called, but it's the Grey's Xtreme spod/marker one; it's laying in the bushes next to my margin for and don't want to spook anything. Anyhow, what a pile of poo. I don't know what eyes they've used but I've had the liners pop out far too many times. It's more to do with them using single legs for the last eye before the tip which gets bent up in my rod bag. I've also had one of the triple legs go on me as well. It's maddening. Sure, my rod bag shenanigans isn't Grey's fault, though it doesn't help.
I'd guess the reason for the single leg is for the action. Either way I'm not a fan. The rod feels megga heavy too. I'm not one for having matching everything, though at some point I'll grab a Trebuchet spod that matches the rods I've got and I know it won't be cheaply turned out, unlike Grey's effort, after all, you get what you pay for.

I use the free spirit 13ft ctx spod/spomb rod... Good rod for the money and plenty of power for baiting up at range...

Free Spirit Hi S 13ft Spomb rod is what you want!
Absolute beast! Ive got one and also a normal 12ft spomb version for up to 100yds.
Only down side is the price!

I have the greys distance spod rod 12ft6 and can put the spomb in excess of 130..often it's not the average rod it's the average angler.

Sometimes maybe true , I am currently using a standard greys spod rod must be 15 years old now , I can chuck it a good 130 , I want a true distance tool though
