its a van so its classed as a comercial vehicle. comercial vehicles cost more than cars on ferrys.

Best off giving them a call, we had to swap vehicles on a trip last year, from a 4x4 to a van, which fell within the 4x4 sizing, they charged the same for both vehicles

I spoke to the ferry company before booking to confirm that my berlingo was infact a car based van, thus could travel as a car as it is not sign written. With email conformation, I always book the van as a car and no problems.

I asked DFDS about my lwb transit connect recently due to the same, size wise it's a car, there smallest van size is much bigger but they insisted it is classed as a van so cost me £100 extra.. Until 2 years ago I took my Renault trafic lwb over for around £180, now my smaller connect is £279..

just returned from France on the Newhaven-Dieppe (DFDS) crossing in my SWB Transit Connect
and booked it in as a car with no problems.
Cost was £125 return.

We have always had to pay the commercial rate for our Ford Connect when we travel to France every year with Brittany Ferries.

I've got a lwb Mercedes Vito, its glazed all round and has 5 seats, rears live in the garage as i use it for work but always goes on with DFDS as a large car.

I'm sure I remember reading on here of folks booking Transporters on as cars and getting away with it
