I am guessing this is a long shot given the seemingly high demand and high price tags on a lot of carp fishing books, but would anyone be willing to lend me a copy of some they own? I often see people raving about books by Terry Hearn, Dave Lane, Adam Penning etc, but I have never read one.

I was the same but over lockdown when we couldn't fish i watched the Dave Lane Obsession with Carp on Youtube. From there i brought A Flick of the Tail, followed by In Pursuit by Terry Hearn and then The Secret Carp by Chris Yates.
All of them are a great read - I'd certain recommend Dave Lane; he's a great story teller.
You should be able to get all of those from Ebay for not too much money, others like Obsession for Carp and Casting at the Sun are selling for much more.
I'm certain the Adam Penning Rolling in the Deep is availble direct from him or the publisher - again i think around £35.

I've picked up plenty of randoms off eBay for peanuts, Tim paisley writes some cracking books. I've also purchased loads new that make decent money second hand.
As for lending them out I think you may be struggling, I wouldn't even lend mine to family...

with the value off some books would you be willing to borrow someones, then reimburse them the full value second hand rate if you accidentally damaged it..

It sounds like you should have a look for them on Kindle (or similar) - I'm not sure how readily available they are or how much you'd pay but it will be considerably less than the cover price of a physical book.

At the risk of a lynching - I'm not sure if i'd like Tim Paisley....never got on with his writing in Carpworld.
