I know there was a load of thefts happening around the Cotswold waterpark and oxford area at some point a few years a go, is this still happening?

It seemed like a weekly occurrence at one point but i'm hoping things have improved since.

Thats why I always have a machete in my armoury when fishing..
But obviously its used for chopping back branches etc

Deep heat spray for ones bad shoulder is also worth having handy.

Let's be honest if 5 blokes turn up in your swim you can wave a machete as much as you like, they'll still take your gear and leave you half dead

Yeah, your mobile is better, take as many pictures as possible before they get it then tell them they are automatically backed up to the cloud.

My bivvy is now big enough that I can fit all my gear, including barrow and rod holdall, comfortably in the bivvy at night.

Saying that I put my bait bucket in a swim to reserve the swim last year and by the time I got back with my gear it had gone!

Maybe so or not but I'd rather get done over trying at least to protect my gear instead of doing **** all about it

Gear can be replaced,you can't.If they want it let them have it and go home safely to your family
