Produced some good gear at a reasonable cost. Their Outcast rods were spot on and had one of their bivvies for years

Pity if true. I may be off the mark but heard that the Chub gear is being rebranded as JRC? If wrong apologies but something I have a vague recollection of reading when I was trying to find some Chub stainless a few months back

Yeah used loads over the years, trusted the brand as never had a bad product.
Just upgraded the older outkasts to the newer version this year aswell.

Chub and JRC are both owned by the company that owns Shakespeare.
A mate and I were saying a few years ago when we worked together at Gladwells in the tackle department, that one of the two names would likely disappear, we both reckoned it would be Chub.

Hello. Go on total fishing tackle. They have brought all of Chubs stock and are selling the outkast brollies for £79.99 atm. Have ordered one but awaiting the stock to arrive with them first

Thanks pal, it was actually seeing this on instagram that got me interested in it.
Any idea when it is actually going to be available though as nothing mentioned, I think it's also a pay upfront type pre-order, which could leave money in limbo for a while before anything ships

I messaged them a few times and all they said was they hope that stock arrives early this coming week and will be shipped on same day. I hope so as I can't wait to use it lol. Trying to find a overwrap for it too. Although I may just try by small bivvy winter skin and see what it fits like to save a few quid lol

A wrap on a normal type brolly is pointless imo as there needs to be an air gap between the brolly and the wrap for any real benefit. So I'd save your money and not bother.

Shame if they have gone, had loads of their gear over the years and still use most of it.
The Outlast small water rods are superb and my Vizor bivvy must be 8 years old at least and is absolutely bullet proof.
Their prices were always very reasonable too.
