Evening all. I am looking at renting a van for a session in a couple of weeks and wondering if a standard 12ft rod holdall will comfortably fit in a Renault Kangoo, or equivalent. Normally use our car and hire the missus a small car but that may not be feasible this time so any advice from experience will be appreciated

My old Kangoo was a 57 plate, I suspended rods from roof and they poked into storage room over driver above windscreen. Not sure on newer version, loads of room though. I am sure I had them in diagonally once or twice

Cheers. Would normally wander down and try it as a depot very close but with Corona not sure they would let me try this before I rented and I don't want to pay the money and find the van is useless for my purposes. I was thinking diagonal should work but wasn't sure

I have had two Renault Kangoo's in the past and had no problems putting the rod bag in the back.

This was my Renault Kangoo from new in 2003 till 2014 brilliant for everyday use fishing and shifting stuff.
I then bought a secondhand Suzuki SL7 4x4 7 seater, 2.7litre juice gobbler, cost me a fortune to drive to France.
Now got a new Renault Kadjar with a roof box the gear goes in fine.
This was my Renault Kangoo from new in 2003 till 2014 brilliant for everyday use fishing and shifting stuff.

Cheers Andy. Just booked one as all suggest it should be fine. Can't believe it's cheaper to hire a van than a small car having checked. Thought it would be a bit more

The Kangoo has a shelf the full width of the car above the front windscreen, it also has side overhead cabins, just like in a plane. I extend a storm pole that has foam pipe insulation round it and rest it each side in the cabins, the spigot joints rest on the front shelf and the rod butts rest on the covered storm pole. It's the best way to carry rods i ever found.
