Hi folks

Just wondered what people's ‘go to' line is these days for distance when there's a leader ban please? I've used 16lb pro clear in the past, but some of the Gardner lines seem popular these days?

It has to be mono and minimum .35mm, and needs to have enough backbone to stop a fish at range if needed.

Purely for distance Fox Exocet in 16 or 18lb. The 18's supposedly .35.

I use esp synchro the non loaded in 15lb. most of my fishing for the last 2 seasons has been around 120 mark. And it's been absolutely fine to use no unexpected crack offs after a few weeks I will strip a few rod lengths and re tie the leaders on so I ain't thrashing the same bit of line constantly and it's been great to use 👍🏼

Terry Edmunds recommends the Gardner Pro blend, I used it when i had a lesson with Terry and managed 154yards with 0.35 15lb and 3oz lead so I strongly recommend it, and its cheap

Gardner Pro for me as well.

It does cast well with no leader, pretty good at coping with snags as well.

Do you know anywhere that has it in stock? Can't find it anywhere haven't for a while either.

Have a look at post #45 on the ‘Using a Boat' thread, may help, apart from that I've always found it on eBay but it's not around that often. I think last time I saved a search for it and got a notification when someone was selling some.
