I had booked via tui to go to Spain in June this year all fully paid via debit card.
Cost over £2500,now I hear it's doubtful I will get a full refund.
But vouchers wtf ..has anyone else had this problem?

Hiya mate

a lot of companies are offering vouchers / new dates etc.

my understanding is that you are entitled to a refund rather than either of the other options but there might be specific circumstances that mean you'll have to wait until closer to the date

check out martin lewis' MoneySavingExpert site.

Same here. I was going to the Isle of Man. Hotel would not give me a refund, ferry would so from £800 they were offering me £300 back!

The hotel will honour the booking for the next year though so I've gone with this, not perfect but better than losing £500

If you pay with a credit card, which i don't like to use you can easily get all your money back, lesson for me there for the future!

I do believe though you can go through your own bank and try to claim costs back through them if goods or a service you have paid for is not as described or provided?

It's called the charge back scheme.
I use a credit card for my Purchases like this just in case anything happens as you are covered.
You only need to pay a part of it on a credit card and you are covered for the full amount.
So you could split it and pay on a credit card and debit card and cash if you wanted to

Ive heard Martin Lewis advise to pay a deposit with a credit card, as previously mentioned you can then claim all money back, this is applicable to all purchases i.e. A car etc.

Apparently if you paid say 200 holding deposit on your credit card for a car that's worth thousands and you need to make a claim the credit card company can have to pay the full amount back if it all goes tits up....

Food for thought

Absolutely correct
Pay as little as possible on the credit card for full protection and then pay however you want for the rest
And get cover from day 1
Most credit cards are 30 days free if you pay In full it makes sense
I use my credit card in the shop and then when I get home just pay it from my regular Debit card so interest free applies
It actually annoys me now when I forget to pay For those kind of purchases by credit card lol.

Most shops dont care if you pay by 2 cards when paying for stuff anyway.
Expensive Fishing rods or reels is a good one for just in case lol

I believe you only need to put £100 on your card to be completely covered
