Morning all,
I thought this would be the best place to put this post. Does anyone have any thoughts on when lakes will be re opened?

Will it sync with the full lock down of the country or will the government relax areas like open spaces and lakes.

It s a tough one to call but thought it might be with some discussion.

Personally I think they will open up, open spaces well before we can go back to the pub and stuff like that. The phycological effects of being in lock down will be taking it toll on people in the next few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if we can get back fishing by middle of May, however I don't think shops, pubs etc will be open before end of August

Very good point and I totally agree.

Another coronavirus thread

Due to people flouting the lockdown and going out in droves to parks they are seriously thinking of stopping exercising in outside places (Matt Hancock on the Andrew Marr show this morning) so maybe not as soon as we would like.

Until they NHS get the number of cases down to a manageable level I think the restrictions will remain in place.

Problem is someone goes out has a accident which requires hospital treatment that's additional resources taken away from the problem in hand, (would you like to go to a hospital full of coronavirus patients ?).

So yes it may be tough on us - though there is only a finite resource to deal with the challenge the world is facing.

I think we have to accept that fishing this year maybe be scuppered until September/ October

My only chance of fishing this year is when im on holiday in july / August so if it's still locked down I'm stuffed. Shame as i was really looking forward to a new p.b this year. Hey ho there's always next year. They'll be bigger then as well.
