Just how effective are these when used in conjunction with the magnetic adaptors with other indicators? Are the magnets strong enough to withstand a strike without your bobbin flying off into the lake?

Yes they will be fine because they have a bayonet fitting on.

They're effective but they rust mate. Its plated carbon steel. I've had 2 sets that rusted within a season. Avoid
