Are they the same size? Also as son is looking for new alarms and he's decided he wants fox is there really any advantage in getting the RX in terms of build quality? From the outside it doesn't seem like you get more alarm for your money with the rx when you consider how much more expensive they are

The RX are a fare bit bigger. They have a lot more features, different LED options including multiple colours and brightness, many sensitivity settings, different drop back tone, receiver has light up function after a few bleeps, which is good at night, only comes on with a take. False bleep technology thing, which does work. If you can afford the RX I'd definitely take the over the M's, there's often second hand one's out there, bide your time and you'll find a bargain.

To be fair I don't think there is much between MX and RX as asked.....yes against M's but that isn't what he asked!!!!!

Daveman so you think those features justify £320 increase in price, which is what it is for a set of 3! As i understand it the MX have changeable LEDS as well and adjustable sensitivity. The adjustable sensitivity may not be as sophisticated but just how many settings do you need? If the other features are the difference i would find it hard to justify the price hike.

Think you need to go on the fox international website and compare the product descriptions with the fox Mx... then the fox rx+ alarms ..think you will find the rx has a lot more features and certainly can't be compared to the Mx ...the fox rx alarm is far more superior alarm than the Mx...price is what it is you pay your money for the product that suits your needs best.. if the Mx will suit or do what's needed from whoever wants to buy it then that's all good .. however if your looking for a alarm with more features and it suits different fishing situations then this is the Alarm to go for in my opinion... I've owned the Mx alarms and now own the rx+ alarms and the Mx ain't got a patch on the rx alarms.... so I think it's you that hasn't compared properly

Mx has as you say changeable led colours, 6 in total but one led instead of two. The dtec sensor but just two sensativity settings, not sure if it has anti theft? Seems great vfm.

Ok, hadn't realised the Mx have changeable LED's, sure they didn't when I had them. Was only putting my thoughts over as now have the RX, and yes worth the extra cash, also as I said, wait to find a second hand bargain, you'll not need to think about an upgrade after a few uses, as you will being as you're already thinking about them lol

No the newer Mx their smaller than the RXs their 3 1/2 long just over 2 inches wide , just over an 1inch thick
