Guys im wondering whats the recommendation for a wide bedchair system, having always used a standard im thinking of getting a wide one, im a big bloke so wondered if anyone had pro's and con's for one. Any help cheers guys

Pros: dead comfy.
Cons: weigh a tonne.

I bought one for a winter campaign years back, i froze my tits off, I just didn't have the body mass to warm the huge bag up

Been using a standard width system for years and love it, borrowed a mates wide version once and hated the thing, felt way less comfortable to me. Not really any positives in it to me

Anyone recommend a system ie trakker oval, solar, avid x, anyone got one, im looking at the oval system but dont wannt waste a load if theyre not much cop, iv spent too many years on a standard and its starting to take its toll, im 6'4 tall and a big lad so thought id try a wide chair.

I'm an arthritic and generally knocked about 64 year old and sessions were becoming a bit of a grueller. Decided to invest in the biggest, warmest, comfiest bed I could afford. Found a Nash 5 season 3 leg indulgence wide boy with all bells and whistles at a heavily discounted price. I generally use brolly for 48 hour sessions, summer and winter. Not looked back, spacious, comfy warm, session are good again. Not saying nash is best but big, comfy warm beds are worth it. They are unavoidably heavy and cumbersome but wort the effort.

Im 6'3 at a 100 kilo's and I love the Benchmark X. Best sleeping bag I've ever had, comfy memory foam and seems durable enough for me (although I've read complaints about the first version). I average around four months on the bank yearly, so I thoroughly tested it. Only downside is the weight.

Id recommend the Nash SS4 wideboy , 5 season , the bag also has side baffles built so as to retain the heat but still giving you the width of the bag .
I have the SS3 W , I only recommend the SS4 W as the legs are longer.

Nash Indulgence all the way. Bought the last season Wide boy 5 season 4 leg. Amazing bed/bag for £320 brand new. Only down side is weight / size on barrow, but worth the effort.

Had a fox flatliner, nash indulgence and avid restbite over the years but recently bought a wide solar sp c-tech bed and its by far the best bed ive ever owned. It built like a tank and the comfort is on a whole new level altogether, the only downside is its pretty heavy but it goes on a barrow so the weight is not a problem. I dont like the sleep system idea so bought the bed and gardner plus size carp duvet bag.

Yeah, I have heard that complaint before. When did you buy it? The more recent models appear to be just fine. If you have a proper stockist, they will sort you out (even when your warranty has expired). Avid has supposedly helped people with these issues. I have given up on blaming the manufacturers, since I have had faulty products from almost each and every one of them. In the end, the service they provide is what counts.

I read some where that some one had problems with the welds breaking on the legs on his benchmark bed and avid sent him a replacement and the welds went on the replacement legs as well after only 3 weeks.

I've now cut some shallow grooves, into the legs with a hacksaw and it's working. Probably snap soon.
