I'm not sure if this has been flagged up in another thread I couldn't find any. After seeing a few articles about having trading standards on bait, My query is where do we stand with homemade baits and baits from smaller companies that may not be able to buy the approved ingredients set out by trading standards. Will lakes have to say only certain companies baits are permitted?????
Just seeing what people's views are.
Cheers

Why would a home roller not be able to buy approved ingredients with companies like British aqua feeds and other about?

If it's for your own use who's going to know what's in it ?

Can't be regulated unless the approved ingredients are the only ones sold, and then how do you control useage of products as all of them have wildly different parameters for useage?
Example - BAF have just started selling DMPT to the public, it has a note on the info that it is only to be used in hookbaits to comply with law. How is the going to be policed??
I know plenty of people that make bait for personal use that probably source far better quality ingredients than the big companies as they aren't in it for profit. Smaller companies can always access the right ingredients as it's just a case of club together to get the minimum order if it's a few pallets worth or whatever...been going on for decades.
