Hi ladies and gents, I was wondering if anyone could advise... I'm considering making my own popups, I currently use a small hook bait companies "high attract" popups with some fairly good results, issue being they are ridiculously expensive. So for those that have experience using it, is the Mainline DIY gear much cop? Thanks J

Hi yes I've only recently got into dabbling with making my own bait. For pop ups I've been using Mainline Polaris along with Mainline liquid additives, flavours and powdered colours. I've been doing alright recently with Multi stim and Sweet Plum.

I'm not a big fan of Polaris. I think it makes quite spongy baits. Personally I'd say use either the CCMoores or BAF mixes with your mainline flavours, liquids and powdered attractors.

Not used it in a while but it used to be terrible imo. Really poor buoyancy.

Yeah thinking I might actually go with the BAF gear, done some digging and sounds good 👌🏼

Their readymade pop-ups used to be dreadful years ago, but apparently they're very buoyant now so maybe the Polaris is better to?

Yeah I also heard that mate. I'm surprised no-one has been able to provide feedback on the latest stuff tbh.

Yeah I agree. Not found a bad word said about the BAF mix though so played it safe and ordered some of that today

I know their 18mm wafters used to pop a size 4 up off the lead nicely..
Are you sure?
