Hi all,

Does anyone know of any French public venues that allow you to fish from your campervan or be able to park it close to the lake?

PM if preferred

Not done it myself (don't own a camper yet) but fished Lac de Salagou some years ago and campers were pulling up just behind us.

Although not public Etang 5 is spot on.Large lake with not many Angler's fishing so loads of space.Plus Fish to 80+ if not bigger. It doesn't meet your exact requirements but maybe worth a look if nothing else.Good luck in your search mate.

You'd have a job now in most areas of Salagou. Access routes down to the lake are being blocked all the time. In the summer it's complete madness down there, it's turned into a camper park all the way round the lake and consequently the access to swims has been blocked. I'll qualify that by saying all the car parks in the area are full of campers and crusty's... Might get lucky outside of the tourist season. There were a couple of spots we managed to get the van down to last April but not necessarily areas where you'd stand a good chance of catching..

Do you know anything about the other lakes nearby to abbey? Guessing the jet ski lake is no go but noticed on way to shop from abbey there's quite a big lake with what looks like abandoned sheds in lots swims?
Also another smaller lake albeit still a fair size that looks like been fished with fires etc nearby on the industrial estate side? Just interested that's all, river nearby looks pretty bang on as well!!

No, other than Abbey own more lakes in that area but I couldn't tell you any more than that. Ive had a look around a few of those nearby as well and seen plenty of fish but have no idea who owned them or if you could fish any.
