The absolute state of Boris. There's a thing that I like to watch every now and again called The Duran Report, it's quite a level headed take on things. One of the guys is an ex lawyer who's been both prosecution and defense in high court cases who has close friends in high up places, he says it's well known in the upper tier circles that Boris is lazy and a good time charlie.

There are some good ones among the bad eggs, I genuinely believe not all of them are in it for themselves.
Thing is about all this, which seems to have gone under the radar, how are important people, able to make important decisions under the influence of alcohol? Since when is that acceptable??

Yes, I'm saying that the total number of deaths is going to be the same regardless. But saying there were nigh on 400 deaths (from covid) yesterday is not accurate.
And the convenient part of the lag in deaths is because government was justifying it's leniency over Christmas with restrictions. Not implying they've held back deaths for the recent spike to materialise, but it's worked in their favour as usual.
Not going to get into webpage top trumps, but the nhs website has to be pretty reliable for figures regarding public health?

They don't. They say 400 deaths recorded within 28 days of a positive test. If you want to split hairs, anyone dying from or with covid after 28 days of the positive test is not recorded as a covid death. Funny how nobody from your side of the argument ever seems to mention this, they always seem preoccupied with people getting run over by buses.

I don't know what you mean mate. I'm not saying the figures are any less than the government are saying they are
The way they are logged is not a day by day tally, it's deaths that could've occurred at any time before that date which haven't yet been recorded for whatever reason. Chris whitty often says as much himself.
I can't see what side of an argument I'm on here because I've not mention car crashes or anything?
The link I posted clearly shows on a graph deaths between the 28th dec and yesterday being reported, the number is the same I imagine as the government figures if you factor in the rest of the uk but it's not on a single day.
Not sure how many other ways to word it without being vilified

I won't trawl back through this thread but I think on occasion you might have done that. people trying to diminish the effects of covid, or make out that the govt are inflating the figures often quote that people who have covid but get run over by a bus are counted as covid deaths.
In the end, no matter how you count the data, the govt figures are slightly low compared to ONS, but ONS are quite close to excess deaths when adjusted for increasing average age over the years.

Any medication you take regularly has long term side effects.
What about all those folk who got covid before the vaccines and are still suffering. (Long Covid) unable to return to work like my brother in law ?

Ah yes, that's a good point that often gets forgotten. Chances are that the figures are far higher, though we'll never really know. Suffice to say that what we do know / what we don't know - it's a big number that's caused suffering up and down the country, and beyond.

Saw a funny argument this morning.......Women nurse who is unvaccinated and being told she was a risk to patients......Women explained she was a risk, slightly more than someone vaccinated but her point was that if her patients are vaccinated then there is no further protection than that.......If Vaccination meant 0 chance then she could understand the argument for vaccination in the NHS but whilst there is still a chance then its a flawed argument......it all Went a bit quiet after that......
