I'm going to bet that the R&D on their controller and electrics was done with SLA batteries, and they simply haven't tested a lithium alternative.
Whatever, it's still a massive miss in this day and age.

I asked Adam at the show yesterday if they were lead acid and he said yes.
They will be looking at getting lithium versions at some point, but they want to ensure safety is all sorted...
The Glider is a bit longer than the Trident, too long to go in my LWB Transporter without taking the handles off, so I will be going for the Trident I think.
They were nice barrows. When I first saw the price I vomited too, but I am fortunate enough to have nothing else I need to spend money on - so at some point, when I have gotten over the guilt trip, I will go for it.
