I take it you've been reading my posts really carefully, so you noticed it was to claim disability benefits, ESA and PIP.
Then consider, to get to the DWP office, from the bus stop is a 200metre walk, a can do, but painful. The car park is half that.
Then having to be at the DWP office at 2pm, I would have to be on the bus at 1.15, whereas by car I wouldn't have to leave mine until 1.40.
The funny thing is that the route I take avoids the traffic pinchpoints and is more direct. I avoid the congestion spots that the bus route doesn't.
So for the sake of £1, I'm actually creating less pollution by not getting caught in traffic, I'm closer to my destination.

Maybe some locals are abusing their councillors but from the outside I've only heard reports of criticism and concern.
If you are going to introduce a scheme like this you need to have balls.
I'm still suspicious that this is just yet another nimby scheme designed to appease certain people of influence and standing.

Not sure you've mentioned claiming ESA and PIP before, must have missed it.....
You aren't creating less pollution as the bus is running anyway, unless you are incredibly overweight so causing the bus to struggle.
So it's creating more pollution to save 25 mins and a quid?

You are still missing a point. Due to my back, hip and leg mobility, which i most definitely DID mention, I would struggle from the bus stop nearest the DWP office, the car park is half the distance.
I did omit to say, to get the bus back to mine, I have to walk around half a mile across town to Tower Ramparts, which I would struggle to do. I struggle now with 200metres.
It is NOT just the £1.60 saving, it is the closeness to the benefits office of the car park.
My route into and out of town is not congested, does not go through any of the pinch points that hold traffic up, and is shorter than the bus route.
There is actually another possibility, that within the 100metres from the benefits office, if I'm lucky, I can get free on street parking, if there is a space. So the worst is I save £1.60, I might actually save £4.60.

Not directed at Dave who I think is just giving an opposite view to keep the topic debate alive, give an alternative point of view and likes to make people think.
But from personal experience with interaction with people who design, promote and think they are doing good with schemes, they seem to be either young, fit and blind to other people's plights. or just selfish corrupt nimby's, It's either their way or the highway (pun intended).
I don't really do Whatsapp but feel privileged to have been invited to a private group that includes Rosamund Kissi-Debrah.
She believes in clean air for everyone but she certainly knows about greenwashing.
To those people on here who think they are open minded and abreast of the green situation should be aware of what they are being fed. I'm not an expert but I do follow those who are, if you think Ros and her organisation are wrong let me know of your concerns, she's a very busy woman but I'll try to pass your concerns on.

I don't have problems with the green issue, but I do have problems with some of the things that are ignored or forgotten about.
For example we should not be dumping our waste into landfill, it is long term pollution. There is much in our home or industrial rubbish that can ge recycled, and/or used as fuel for incinerators or power stations. Yes I know about the burning produces CO2, but there are filters that can remove other air pollutants.
Building Solar power farms reduces potential farm land. Wind farms require a connection terminal on every turbine, a 4 turbine power station (coal, gas or nuclear) only requires one terminal to the mains, all turbines go into one terminal.
Then cable routing. Bring your cables onshore at an existing point. In East Anglia we have Sizewell, and Bacton with existing high power cables running to the National grid. Use that as your point to bring the wind farm cables onshore.
Public transport (and utilities) should not be privately owned; privatisation has seen services decline in quality, costs increase, and modernisation slowed or stopped. It has seen the increase in people driving to and from their destination. I would much prefer to use public transport, but cost is excessive, whether bus or train.

Wind power contributed 4% towards the amount we used yesterday.
I'm not against wind turbines but it's obvious they don't work when there is no wind.
We may to wait but this looks promising
