Angling error? By casting a rod but the line parting because the lead is too big or line too weak to handle the force applied. You can't determine it by distance because different techniques can apply different loads

You are definitely wrong. 0.37mm mono can snap like cotton if the right force is applied. Its irrelevant of lead size, if you could accelerate a half ounce lead fast enough then you could snap the line.
If you worked in a mono factory as you claim you would know that the issue isn't the loading but how its applied (to a point). A sudden loading on the line with cause the stretch to be taken out, once that's done the cross section will deform, micro tears appear and the line parts.
