how true is that!!
problem re government decisions is not just us as anglers.
if they allowed night fishing, camping then that would have opened up so many other activities that involve the great outdoors. SO, ban the lot, get it over n done with, open up sooner.
i feel desperately sorry for all the business's that have been affected as Braders has just mentioned, so selfish anglers should just set an example really.
But again, just my opinion

Lockdown does have its + points Joss, pure excuse for the large consumption of quality reds and stripping out bathrooms.......

Was never going to open before easter - the govt said as much weeks ago. They want to avoid a mass exodus to Devon/Cornwall/Lake District/etc over a weekend and everything that will go along with it.
Most places will be able to charge what they like once open, they'll get their money back. The people I know down here have put their prices up hugely, and they are still fully booked.

My sister will be losing £6,000 a day takings over Easter,I dont think she can make that back by putting a few pence on a pint or a quid on a meal.Wales might decide they are opening things up earlier than us

I'm sorry, I don't agree.
Despite all government guidelines or laws coronavirus has continued to spread; must wear a facemask in shops. It is being passed on through your shopping time. You are breathing corona virus in, through your mask, in the lovely air conditioned heated air.
Through the workplace, again, perfect environment for viruses to travel.
Lockdown was always to slow the spread, basically to allow the understaffed and underequipped NHS hospitals to cope, however, it has extended the crisis, and allowed the Covid virus to mutate.
Most people with coronavirus have minimal or no symptoms. Of those with no symptoms, 1 in 3 will produce a negative test!
Every mutation is basically a new disease, so it is quite possible that people can catch it more than once.
Just because a law is in place, does not always make it right, does not make it just. Obviously the basic 10 Commandments, but sometimes there are times when the law is used incorrectly.
I asked a genuine question a long time ago; what constitues no fishing overnight? I can fish after work, but say I finish at 10pm. An hour after work is no different to if I finish work at 4pm.
The rule I think was to cover camping out.

Depends n the quality of the mask ultimately.
Lots of medical staff whom have no choice have not had it.
How could anyone imagine how bad this was going to be - you seem so critical of the NHS and how are you qualified to make that statement ?
For example in parts of Asia some have had 5 or more lockdowns (I know this because I work for a company that has manufacturing and other businesses out their) so your point does not carry any weight does it ?
Mutations are you really qualified to make that assumption or is it something you read in the daily mail ?

I'm finding it very hard to warrant the Night Fishing Ban, that's if people are ACTUALLY going Night Fishing.
Your driving to your Local venue, stopping “X” amount of time, then you're driving back home. Whether “X” is one hour, 10 hours or 24 hours is totally irrelevant to the situation. By design your chosen area to fish was positioned to isolate you from anyone to your left or right, IF everyone stuck to their swims, plus the 2m distance rule – I can't see a problem.
Think the problem is nobody could be arsed to police the situation if someone was so badly educated (Nice way of saying “Thick”) that they struggled to adhere to such simple basic rules.
On the other side of the coin – I could have taken a very short drive last night at 9pm to any of three private local waters, and I absolutely guarantee there would have been people night fishing on all three! Again – it's no good implementing a Night Fishing ban if nobody can even be arsed to Police it.

We camp a lot. As a family and I also go on my own but take my rods It's just as much confusing as night fishing. We can camp from beg April but only vans and statics no tents as facilities cannot be shared by multiple people (showers toilets etc) yet I can go to the gym use all equipment then have a shower

youve only got to see the amount of pple wandering around in huge groups without a care in the world.
re laws, your correct, i dont agree with 70mph speed limit on motorways, but its law and we are supposed to follow. Not saying i do all the time of course.
if we had tuff lockdown laws ie like some other countries, then im convinced we wouldnt have had the lockdowns and cases as we have

There's zero comparison to other sectors, the fact you have to have a Fishing Licence kind of blows the “Camping bit” out of the water, try saying to the EA “I don't need a licence if I fish at night as I'm Camping” see how far you get without being prosecuted.
