I see on social media that the carp cast are trying re launch themselves, aslong as they can manage to do it without banging on about how much it costs,the constant adverts and plugging for subscribers and Jamie's business adventures..when they were the only ones out there they had the lions share of listeneres but theres podcasts out there now, professionally put together with no mention of costs or hardship that have excellent content.

I loved the Podcast when it first came out, I even payed for the other content even though the free content was miles better.
Being the first fishing podcast released it done well, in my opinion there so many better quality podcast out there now.
I love the way Jamie was so far up Nashy's arse for the first 90 episodes but slagged him off when they had a falling out.

I also really enjoyed the carp cast. I think their roster of guests is still the best of all the podcasts, although the Korda one will no doubt catch up.
I had a bit of love/hate listening to Jamie, no doubt he could be a pain, but at least he was pretty honest in his opinions and couldn't help but dive in when he thought something wasn't right in the news section. As a host, he also had some pretty special captures to quantify his opinions. Was hoping that he would turn up as a guest on the Korda podcast one day, would have been good value.
I've also enjoyed the Carp Anglers Chronicles, but as member of this and the black forum I can't help but think that a lot of the ‘bait guru' stuff is lifted from the many brilliant threads over the years rather than original thought. Would be good to get some context on where they have fished and what was caught to support the information given out.
That said, I think they have found a great niche in getting some of the forum members on to share that knowledge, looking forward to another one with Dean.

It's hard not to cover topics that have already been covered on here, but I think we've revealed quite a few bits that I haven't seen mentioned on here before. A lot of what we talk about comes from our own trial and error or ideas that start with white papers, which are public domain or at least available to everyone through google and/or emailing the right places. Much like this forum.
I have also recently built a koi-type carp pond in my garden and trust me, those fish are getting a lot of different ideas thrown at them!!! Example- I will be testing over 30 essential oils on these fish and then plan to summarise my findings on the podcast which should be pretty unique to us. These will be tested in various water temps throughout the year and I expect each of the EO's effectiveness to differ alongside these changes.
That being said this forum definitely inspired a fair bit of my bait making when I was more active on here 10 or so years ago. I am not sure what the black forum is though
As far as what we've caught goes, not all venues are allowed to be nor should talked about.
I've been very lucky and managed to catch what I would class as incredibly special fish but to be totally honest with you a lot of this is down to the time I used to spend fishing.
“Back in the day” when I was “proper on it” I'd regularly do 3 or even 4 nights a week and make a visit most days. It's the guys who catch the special ones on minimal time that balance up other areas of life that really hold my respect.
Recently my fishing is limited to 1 night only per week, not even 24 hours. In addition to that I will try my best to visit the lake (50 minutes away) to bait up at least once a week, recently I've managed to bait up 3 times as I'm gunning for it before the water turns proper cold.
Since angling this way I've realised that so much of my style of angling was based around having eyes on the water constantly and acting accordingly.
With my new style of angling with limited time I'm finding I have to try to plan ahead of the carp and other anglers and be several steps ahead in order to be successful (which I'm often not!).
I'm most definitely catching far less than I once did.
That being said I'm still getting amongst them so perhaps I should start posting a few of my captures on social media, even though I cringe at the thought (seems a bit ego-driven and “braggy” which despite how a few people have said I come across as, I am most definitely not!!).
Anyway, apologies for the ramblings!
We welcome any feedback going forward and really want to make it something that is enjoyed by the few who are on our wavelength

It was the first one the carpcast wasn't it?
I thought it was very good a first, something different and quite refreshing. I liked Mark, he was straight talking and there were some good little stories and interviews. I gave up on it when it became the Jamie's Sunday morning brunch show
That's not a knock at the lads, both successful anglers but if feel they drifted away from the original script, then like mentioned it was all about money, whether it cost or not if they enjoyed doing it they should have just cracked on for me
Now there seems to be loads about. I haven't listened to any since the carpcast

The shaun Harrison 'naturals' one is next, that's an aspect of a good bait I believe in but it's rarely mentioned on here.
On that vein I'd love someone to get Bob or jules from carp company to do one of these or at least some writing on bait, thirty odd years in the industry but very little media stuff from them
