So we're pushing testing, but have no tests

To be fair the best part of the NHS has been the vaccine rollout. Amazing what it can achieve when you take out the layers and layers of management and everyone singing from The same hymn sheet
If only they could run the whole of the NHS like that, could probably payback everything spent on furlough in a couple of years if it was run properly
Re testing, I'm waiting for the daily cases to drop massively in the next week or so due to no one being able to do a test

Yep we've done a very good job on the vaccine rollout it's kept the deaths low.
We do more tests than many other countries, twice as many as comparably sized countries like France or Italy.
They'll just draft in the army for the nightingale hospitals and dispatch the unvaccinated

Yeah it's amazing what you can do when you allow cancer diagnoses, dementia and poor mental health to slip through the net. Pats on backs all round
Surprised they haven't got photos of soldiers building the nightingales again, when in reality I know of builders who made a killing working on them wink wink nudge nudge
The nhs is a **** show, good hard working people let down by management and rude bone idle tooth kissing night staff.

Sorry the uk before the pandemic had some of the worst rates for cancer diagnosis and survival. .in Europe.
Ultimately the NHS needs to be privatised if we want decent healthcare then we need to pay for it. Look at Israel fantastic system but it's not free.
You only have to look when the pandemic started we had one of the lowest rates for critical care beds.
Perhaps if we all payed for it we'd look after ourselves a bit better as well 😀👍🏼

Unfortunately, too many people live in the breadline/month to month for it to be viable, the second we go down that route, the vultures capitalise and we end up like America.
I have private healthcare which is unbelievable compared to the NHS, well worth the money for anyone who can afford it.

All health systems have undoubtedly suffered and some more than others.
If ‘we' you want a better one it has to be reformed as you said and I think we all agree it's broken.
If you look at other countries (Europe and Israel) some take a percentage or your salary, others it's an insurance you pay but it's there for all to access
Of course the challenge of privatisation is where the money goes...

I thought when we pay National Insurance and tax that goes towards funding the NHS.We can't get to a point where healthcare is for only those that can afford it,that just wouldn't be right

From what I'm lead to believe the french charge to see a doctor.......this is something we need to do. My old girl works at the quacks and she said it's the same people over and over who come in. The docs say that there is nothing wrong with them but they have no choice but to see them. Add to that that some people think it's acceptable to get things like paracetamol on prescription........ and let's not even mention the people who go to A&E for nothing more than a scratch or sometimes even a cold!
The problem with our country is no one has the balls to stand up and actually call out people who take the p#ss. We have so many do-gooders who will shout some form of discrimination if we went down that route, however the do-gooders always seem to forget about the people who are being effected by our services being hampered by said p#ss takers.
Unfortunately our politics are just one big game to get votes, because of this real change will never happen.
I pay for my family (missis and two little girls) to have private health care which is currently £110 a month but due to my job and current back issues it would be £250+ a month to put me on it so I don't have it. Once I get my mortgage fully paid (this coming year I hope) I will be put on it as well. I will sleep better once I know I have it.

The NHS doesn't need to be privatised, it needs to be funded properly. Long term, year on year average funding increases are at around 4%, whereas the last 10 years under Tory rule it has been closer to 1.5%. That "missing" 2.5% would make a significant difference.
