Crikey, these situations certainly bring out the best and worst in people and highlight those who can apply common sense and those who require guidance at every step.
It's not helped by the standards of reporting these days either. Personally I think the BBC has shown how poor a lot of it's own reporters and presenters are.

And there is the problem. You read it in an article that said it was stated by the government. No, its a lie. Read the document from yesterday.. That is the official line. You are quoting fake news.

I read on facebook that the government have said you can only go fishing if you are a Capricorn and as long as you stand on one leg at all times to halve the chance of infection getting on you
It's 100% true because I read it. It's not on the government website on their own guidelines so the government must be wrong

Exactly,it is pretty simple really if you are going fishing follow the rules put in place at that water if you don't like them don't go.
This whole situation makes me wonder how many of these "anglers" would still fish if we went back to the old 11 week closes season.

There are always good and bad that come out of these situations. The bad are plain to see however if you have an entrepreneurial brain there will be some big winners and I'm not referring to those trying to make a quick buck on the back of shortages. You need the will and foresight to make the changes needed.

The simple solution is don't go , it's sad that fishing to some is more important than keeping healthy .
I'm sure when restrictions are relaxed this virus will rear its ugly head for another burst of death 💀 to a lot of people .

I saw that to Wayne. A fishery posted on Facebook, so must be true 🙄, that The Angling Trust are seeking clarification about night fishing and an announcement is going to be made at 1pm today
If night fishing isn't going to be allowed then so be it, it's not the end of the world and 7 weeks ago we'd of killed to be let out to go fish for the day 🤷🏻♂️
People are saying you have to return home from your exercise/sport activity each day (although this isn't in the government guidance) yet no one can tell you what the hours are that you are allowed out for or what time you have to be back indoors by 🤔. If it's a case of just go home that day then I don't see the difference between night fishing and going home at 11.59pm and leaving the house at 00.01 the next day
Some people want exact clarification on every single possible situation which just isn't feasible. Boris hasn't said specifically that you can go to the park and play frisbee with your kids but anyone with a strand of common sense would realise that's perfectly fine to do

However, following the Prime Minister's statement yesterday we have been informed that further guidance will be issued tomorrow which will require people to return to their home every night. This would technically preclude anglers from fishing overnight.
The Angling Trust Advice has always been to travel to fish in accordance with government guidelines and this remains the same.
However, we do not believe that the government ever intended to place limits on the ability of anglers, or indeed others, to practice their sport at night and so we are seeking urgent clarification on this matter. Angling was added to the list of permitted activities on the basis of the proposals set out in the Angling Trust's ‘When We Fish Again' report and we did not see night fishing as a problem.
In the meantime we can only reiterate the need to follow the published government guidance as far as it affects our sport. We will publish further updates when we know more.
