If that **** spent £90 on twigs he must have been expecting to lose quite a few of them.

Marketing isn't screaming from the rooftops (bankside/boat) that something is a ‘game changer', ‘revolutionary' without substantiation (proof).
Good marketing is taking a truth about a product and telling it to your audience in a way that is compelling, engaging and gives them a reason to act (find out more / purchase).
It's also understanding your audience - in this case, passionate, cynical anglers who get promised ‘prod Y' will catch you bigger & more fish than 'product x' did a few days before - over and over again. Follow these rules and a brand generates trust & loyalty eg. Daiwa / Shimano / Korda / Sticky / Thinking Anglers / JAG etc.
OMC are nowhere near this, they've brought an ill conceived, dangerous, ethically questionable piece of plastic out that even fails in its own demo films - it's not even fit for purpose (use of pva tape on a cast).
Tbh, all they had to do was bring out some well designed goretex, breathable jackets for a decent price, a 'stay sharp' hook (after 10 fish) or a catty modelled on a black widow with a range of 100m that doesn't snap.
I watched Dave Lane look at different hooks, line, bivvies, bags etc. and genuinely develop considered items of tackle that were ‘better quality, more durable, more effective - 360 hook etc.' That's product development - it's not asking a plumber for a self hooking screw plug.
Imagine if it worked....was not a weed / net anchor or ethically questionable, if it was concealed inside an in-line lead and was 100% efficient.
A more considered headline / intro would be, “They'll still get away with it...but not often.”
OMC's approach would be more “Give em some stick, get twiggy with it.”
Because of Ali's presence on ITV and exposure across the fishing media, OMC are using this as leverage for distribution, awareness and sales - but it's PR not Marketing.
We're lucky in Holland, really lucky, club waters and river fed lakes with unknown stocks - not ‘rainbow trout' style day tickets offering instant gratification with a 'catch at all costs' generation posting pasties on the gram to a grime soundtrack.
F-that, f-baitboats, f-gravel swims, f-onsite cafes, f-carp with damaged mouths, f-10yr waiting lists, f-buckets behind the swim and f-the tragic twig.

Echo this statement - my local AD (Cov) yesterday had sold out and when asked the chap confirmed that they have been 'flying out of the doors' . . . reality is in this area most syndicate/members lakes have banned them so the targeted day ticket target audience will continue to destroy the already destroyed mouths from those overstocked puddles regardless . . .
