Absolutely agree mate - i have been amazed at some of the comments on social media and elsewhere.
I'm surprised some of these people are still wearing shoes, no where in the document does it say you can wear shoes
One of my syndicates is opening - limited number of people, have to book in with the bailiff ahead of time to make sure numbers are kept low, gloves and disinfectant to be used on the lock, obviously no socialising and self takes if you catch.
Realistically the absolute main message is - keep your distance, wash/disinfect your hands regularly, avoid (or at best minimise) any contact with other people. If you exhibit any symptoms then isolate at home.
Apart from getting a bit of fishing in, nothing else will change for me. i might possibly go and see my mum (though would have to wave through the window as she is in the 'at risk' category) and drop some shopping to her.

What a load of horse****. Who makes this crap up? What next? Anymore ludicrous rules.? How about if you catch a carp, you'd better kill it, because once you've handled it then it's possible it's infected and if someone else catches it everyone in their town will die.

Who excatly is advising this. I work in a job where when meeting people I have to wear a mask, apron and gloves plus it is a sterile as possible environment.
Who on earth said you need to bin any left over bait and end tackle.

Braders and I rarely agree, but on this we do.
Boris Johnson, His statement and follow on advice from government ministers was so ambiguous it was impossible to understand regarding any sport, with just about the exception of golf.
I can play tennis, if I can find a free court, but not one I have to pay to use in a sports club, but only on my own, or with a friend out of my household as long as we stay 2 metres apart. I can handle his or her balls 😱😮
I can now picnic with a friend as long as we stay 2metres apart.
The Angling Trust advice was you can fish, but as long as you can adhere to social distancing and no keepnets. Then we have the no camping, but you can fish overnight if that is your time off and you work nights.
Local day ticket waters are opening, some are working out ways to open safely, yet haven't given a date yet, but have said they will open as soon as. Even Linear and Orchid are trying to work this out and have given press releases themselves via their website and facebook.
Anglian Water have simply said they will stay shut, despite on Alton Water having 10-12 miles of bank space, where you wouldn't see anyone, have no need to touch gates or locks, and is a mix of season ticket holders and day tickets.
Oh, and add in another anomaly, a friend and I often fish together, often sharing one car as its easier to take one, yet now we must travel separately, increasing the number of cars on the road😁😮😖😅

Why on earth would you expect to be able to share a car with someone? It's a confined space where you can't be anywhere close to 2 metres apart. Of course you have to travel separately.

Im not sure those are great examples tbh mate. I think its really fairly clear.
No idea about the tennis rules I'm afraid as i dont play, so havent looked in depth at them.
RE AT advice: go fishing - the campsite are closed (think about shared faciliities etc) - hard to social distance. You can easily social distance whilst night fishing.
Different water opening at different times -
TIts now completely up to the fishery owner. so might not feel comfortable opening at all. small syndicates with say 20 members will find a way to open safely, quicker (Message the bailiff directly), places like linear will need to come up with a really robust process (at scale) to enable the same thing which will obviously take much longer.

just been informed my club lake will be opening tomorrow. I won't be bothering, rules that have been put in would make it non relaxing for me. full ppe must be worn?, plus a drive from one side of Essex to the other which includes going through colchester would be a mare..going to let the mad rush calm down first and crack on building my man cave out the back.

Just seen that you are advised to dispose of all bait that is taken with you and all rigs that are used to be chucked in bins and all nets and unhooking mats to be dipped in disinfectant before and after a session to stop transfer of covid 19 and outher viruses
Why stop there, might as well chuck your clothes in the car when you get home and petrol bomb the lot
