People need to focus on what is in the document. That is the official stance. Anything reported on the news saying "A spokesman said", is irrelevant. If it is not in the document, it is fake news. I cannot believe people are actually flagging this and making their own conclusions that being out fishing overnight is the same as camping. A potential red herring is being raised and bought to public attention that does not need to be.

Like you say,ppl just need be sensible.The club I'm in have opened from Wednesday with 20 members allowed on main water using only certain pegs,so far so good but why oh why leave the locks on the three gates to a tiny locked in area.The rest of the lake is open and no one has issues with theft or people coming in your swim.Remove the locks surely less chance of spreading the virus that way

The locks and transfer of virus is a good point , when you consider so many clubs (including mine) \ syndicates use them.

It's a great point but just have some sanitizer in your pocket and don't touch your face. I would like to think most sensible people would be doing this as a regular practice after visiting Shops etc.

A lot of carpers are used to having sanitiser or at least some decent soap / handwash to protect against Weils disease anyway. And if you don't eat the rats you'll stay that bit safer...

Obviously you would hope so but if removing the locks just takes the potential of transferring the virus by 1% surely it's worth it.Especially as the rest of the lake is not locked in or fenced.Its a public park lake,the rest of the lake has fences you just step over and luckily are quite a distance from the public footpath

Just seen that you are advised to dispose of all bait that is taken with you and all rigs that are used to be chucked in bins and all nets and unhooking mats to be dipped in disinfectant before and after a session to stop transfer of covid 19 and outher viruses
