I get that we all want to have good news the reality is it won't be any time soon. And fair play to Boris I took from it reading between the lines go to work of safe remember it's a right dodgy state of affairs and particularly dangerous if you put your self in harms way be vigilante stay safe.

Not about me ..
Was just thinking (at the time) of other anglers (my friends \ fellow anglers (you) ) who fish this time of year, and the fact that in a worse case scenario they might not be able to fish till August.
Thankfully (dare I say it), such a scenario looks unlikely at this moment.

I was just pointing out that it's been reported to be the case in response to the question he asked.
Personally I think it's too early, give the public an inch and they'll take about 475 miles right now.
In reality they have probably done the usual and given a vague statement, monitor the reaction of the public/press and have the civil servants throw something half usable together by the following afternoon

Yes, I'm just quoting from government not sky or Jim on fb. Trouble is government are contradicting themselves every time they speak. Understand many need to get out and enjoy their hobby to help keep sane but I don't want the NHS put under any unnecessary risk.

Yep doesn't make a whole lot of difference to me unless I decide to fish a day ticket. Most of my waters are closed till June 16th. The only one that might open before then is tiny and I suspect no chance of getting a swim.
I was just more pleased for other anglers, my friends who work in tackle shops and my friends who work in tackle manufacturing. The sooner we get back angling. The sooner their jobs are more secure.
But apparently anyone calling for angling to restart is selfish

No you said in rod licence thread,you do most of your fishing between May-August and if you lost that time fishing you should get money back or an extension on your licence.Yet now you don't fish til June anyway because of club rules.Make up your mind

Big respect mate to you and your family who work in the NHS
and all they've gone through in the last few weeks. I'm sure all the members in this forum would echo that.
I'm classed as a 'key worker' ( not NHS level) and have been working since the lock down in NOT ideal conditions :( .
But I believe sports such as fishing and golf can work .. it just needs to be done right..

Reasons Fishing was stopped
1 to go fishing you needed to travel ? but classed as unnecessary travel
2 lock down only allowed to exercise close to your home
1 now travel is not limited
2 can go to parks etc without restrictions other than social distancing
3 even told you can go to work !
So how anyone can say you cant go fishing beats me ?
