As I say on above average wage. It's the state of wages in relation to inflation thats the issue, not whether or not jobs are "proper" jobs.

Ironic though coming from an angler who finds people that make one of the key consumables for their hobby not in a "proper" job lol.

I've got a great idea to make carp fishing cheaper if the price of boilies goes up. Just don't use boilies.

I got into carping in the early 90's and the trend of 'filling it in' had not caught on where I fished, it
About the time that Mainline and Nash started to get popular and it wasn't long before using larger quantities started to become the norm.
If chucking £100's worth of bait into a lake is denting your pocket then maybe use less bait?

Use particles can get birdfood from Poundland for £1:25 for 1.75 kilo bag and use the Asian supermarkets as well things like ung beans and urid beans and lentils they all take on flavour as well,I use this on the canal or left over bread blend it up and ball it in when prebaiting

Of all the “successful” carp anglers that I know time is the biggest edge and that's a fact, dole wallers, then the self employed or the odd rich kid with plenty of time on their hands. Does anybody really belive that these people, the bank tamps drive the business and the market lol, they ain't got a penny to scrat their arse with

It's the working man, doing the hours and spending his hard earned cash on a hobby where there is no real measure to it other than bull**** and everybody is chasing a pipe dream, being a real carp angler, the bank tramp who lives on the bank. Without the working man there would be nothing, absolutely **** all because the tramps only have their dole money to buy food and bait lol

Said it a long time ago, they will be like heroin addicts clinging onto a fenced fishery that's £30 for 24 hours when it's all been ottered, people inside the fence doing the weekends for said milky white mud suckers, the “real” anglers

Agreed, no need to skint yourself for fish food, boilies can be bulked out with so many other baits. If an angler really feels it's necessary to pile the boilies in then make your own.

my opinion of a good angler has not alot to do with a huge list of kippers, I've seen lots of angling and a few have stood out imo , the love passion and decency of these people shine through, and there tackle generally has been ****

One chap who when I first saw him looked like a tramp, enyway tramp soon showed me the art of floater fishing, with a **** reel and a **** rod, l still struggle with floaters
