Hi - I have been using the mini ones since they came out, had no issues with them at all, not losing leads. I like them because they are a bit more discrete (not that I think the fish care, more my own OCD), and I haven't had any issues with them.

Think the issues are pretty much exclusively on this thread to be honest, would be heard of more by now if not

Fished 3 of the new ones on my rods overnight. Water not that weedy yet. Had red springs in them & all set up OK. Fished to 90 yds & no problems on the cast however had a mid double in the night & at first I thought the lead had discharged, but on closer inspection the bottom half had come off completely. I wonder if the red spring is too strong to discharge the lead resulting in the bead breaking at the join. Bit expensive if you are losing the lead & breaking the heli bead on each fish.

Glad to see I wasn't losing the plot when it happened to me. I think you're right about the red springs for the minis, did you email korda to see if this was a common fault?

No yet. Oz Holness was fishing next to me & I couldn't remember if he had a tie up with Korda but it was pouring as I was packing up so I couldnt be bothered to ask him.

After preaching about never having issues with the originals, I lost a lead on the cast Sunday night. First trip with the mini's and a 30 yard flick that was going off piste. Stopped it early and the lead dropped off immediately.
Caught one that had dropped the lead despite going nowhere near any weed... I was hoping the red springs would only drop the lead if really required but first impressions suggest otherwise.
