Expectable? Do you mean acceptable? It's one thing naming it from your own trip or whatever,but when the guy made a point of keeping schtum,and his reasoning then no it's not acceptable,it's a ****ty move. It's not carp anglers ettiquet that's going to pot, it modern carp anglers. The sort that talk in wraps, spod out munga, and "run" rods.

lol he did commercial video, put it online and that is the end of story... putting name of lake in video or not, same thing... but this lake is not unknown especially not after korda video which just shows that them not naming the lake didnt help at all it exposed the lake totally so why on earth would you/him think his video will not do the same??

What part of keeping things 'schtum' involves producing a video to promote yourself and your sponsors bait and putting it on Youtube?
If anything is taking carp angling to pot it's people using it to try and turn a few quid. That may be whoring yourself out for free tackle and bait, promoting your own products or just begging for views and likes on social media.

Odd arguments in this thread:
1. It's ok to name a venue because someone made a video there (and didn't name it)
2. It's ok to name a venue because i don't fish there any more.
As mentioned it comes down to respect. It may or may not be difficult to find out what lake it is but show the anglers who fish it the respect of not naming it. If people really want to know they can do the research and find out themselves.

He didnt keep schtum though did he. He didnt have to mention any names like Nick Helleur or Korda, or name any of the fish that was in there. He could have just said it's a public water in France, but after reeling off the information he essentially named the lake, so if you want to carry on down the etiquette route, maybe the issue should be with the video and not someone on here naming it, because let's be honest, without the video there is no arguing.

But it's not though, if I put a video out and fished a large lake in France, then went on to say as an example, that I'm fishing Ellis point, and was after a fish that Spooner had recently caught in a monster carp episode, most people would know where I'm fishing, but because I didnt name it, then it's ok?

Look the guy makes his money from fishing ,and therefore has to do these vids etc. He did it and didn't mention the name to show respect to the locals, then some bellend comes on here ,makes a profile just to name it. It a **** move. End of.
