Think you must have got a duff one.
I have received some in various colours (red, blue, white) & none of them have been thin enough to see through.

Compared mine to my 'real' spomb today, other than the logo and the known swivel / wire issue its identical
I dont have leadcore to replace the wire with, do you think a few lengths of armokord with shrink wrap over the top will do the same job?

Reckon it will be fine. I've done mine tonight, doubled up length of coated braid covered in shrink tubing. Didn't like the original wire inside! Don't think it would last long.

Sounds like there's a minority of rubbish copies around then.
Not saying the majority of the copies are 100% but as most of said they are useable and a great price.
We need to know what ebay sellers to avoid

Bought mine from this seller “ mightfree “ they look pretty good but will change the swivel just as a precaution.
The gap at the front is probably less than 1mm and the plastic body seems strong enough but these might be the Rolls Royce of copies as they were £2.24 each.

Mine arrived from China, all good like the last batch I Got, I'm only replacing these old chinese copies as I left them in Thailand. Will change the swivel, apart from that, all good.

Got mine on the bank right this minute, was only opening 1/3 casts, anyone had to trim the catch at all?
So, apart from them not closing properly, or opening when they should and the swivel and wire being ****.........they're brilliant

Sod all wrong with them just some people are expecting them to be the same as a £10/£12 'offical' one. I've had half a dozen so far. I've given some away & lost a couple but only managed to break one. They open up fine, of course you'll always get the odd cast that they don't open but then you do with official ones. That's down to loading not the device itself.
