I'm on the lookout for a new car that would also be used for fishing.
Do any of the guys recommending CRV's have any pics of theres loaded with tackle?
I currently have a mazda 6 estate which is one of the largest estate cars you can get (trust me I've been round many car supermarkets with a tape measure!) And with my bivvy, holdall, rods, bedchair and barrow along with the bait boxes etc I must say its a tight fit!
Looking on auto trader it seems the X trail has a fair bit of space when all seats are down.

Have you looked at skoda superb estates? From what I've seen, not much gets close and my one swallowed 2 people's gear for France trips.
I've now moved to a kodiaq and it's got more space

Avid benchmark bed with 5 season bag
x3 12ft rod sleeves
1 large solar holdall
Nash moon chair (Probably the biggest culprit)
Tempest 1 man bivvy
Nash trax barrow
Small chiller bag for food with stove etc
Couple of bait boxes.
That doesn't seem like a lot there but it fills the car! Maybe its the small opening.
I'm surprised to see the kodiaq handling more than the superb. Do you think this is due to being taller?
I looked at a LOT of cars Friday and was about to pull the plug on the insignia sport tourer but the poo brown colour wasn't floating my boat.
I've since then been looking at the kia optima, xtrail and the superb. Budget is around 12k so I doub't I'll get a kodiaq for that.

Chub Xtra Protection Mat.

Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Monster Unhooking Mat.
Korum Ruckbag with my food etc
Solar P1 Pod.
2 5l bait buckets
Plano tackle/tool nox
5l spare fuel can.
In passenger seat footwell:
7.5l rectangular bucket with Sky's food, treats and bowl
10l container of water
In rear seats:
Bedchair and sleeping bag behind drivers seat.
100l Molle Rucksack
Husky Dog.
Positioned from rear hatch to front:
3 rod sling with rods and landing net.
Bivvy/Umbrella bag with Spod/marker rod strapped to it.

The kodiaq has about 150 litres more space than my previous 2011 superb estate. I believe a lot of this space comes from the higher load area.
But for that money you'll likely only get a base SE model with higher mileage. Mines a 7 seater and the 5 seater has around 60 more litres of space but are harder to find and not available in some specs.

Yeah, no kodiaqs in my price range unfortunately, nor the SEAT equivalent.
The kia optima is grabbing my attention at the moment.

2010 Kia sportage first edition Awd 2 Crdi is good carp fishing wagon, 4 wheel drive with diff lock, leather heated seats, nippy and frugal 2.0 diesel engine, reversing camera. It just so happens im selling it if your intrested lol x

My wife's Toyota Verso is unbelievable for space,she is a childminder so needs a 7 seater.It does not look huge from outside like some of them but has so much useable room inside it's brilliant.

I'm also after a vehicle for everyday running that would easily hold 2 peoples full kit for French trips and Uk sessions.
have been looking at the Skoda Superb Estate but i'm dubious thats going to take 2 full bed systems rod holdalls,Bivvys and all the other paraphernalia that we seem to take with us. Until i see one in person.
