we will all be fishing within walking distance soon and using fairy liquid bottle tops and worms..
personally i think it will bring a few back down to earth, so not a bad thing

I'm ok for now. Don't think that will be the same in a years time. Unfortunately I'm too old to change careers again. It happens to us all eventually. Either that or you die at 27 because you're a rock star.

I don't think the cost of living has helped. If your on a fixed income that is not the best and it's your responsibility to make sure the bills are paid and there is food on the table for your family I can speak from experience there isn't a lot left at the end of the week for luxury fishing items. It may be a bit of fishing tackle for someone earning a good wage, it can be the next man's last £20 for the week.

I've just sat and worked it out. My commute to work has gone up by £108 per month in the last year. My wages have not gone up. I can cope at the moment. However it won't be more than a year before I can't. Fuel bills have have gone up by £14 per week. My take home pay is down by £10 per week due to Nat insurance rise. Food rising by 15% this year. Energy bills going up 40% in October. I can see the arse falling out of most" luxury" markets soon.Of course the super rich will just take the opportunity to get richer. Stock markets worldwide took a dive yesterday. We can't be ostriches with our head in the sand for much longer.

I agree. £1000 a year syndicates, trips to France, crazy tackle prices. A change is probably due, and it is going to happen quite quickly.
The leisure industry in general, discretionary spend, will be affected.

One industry you've all not seen rise like it should of is bait.
It SHOULD all be 12/13 quid a kilo direct from medium sized firms to give a decent living wage but it certainly isn't.
The fact most my generation is renting as well doesn't help.
1400 rent a month
Utilities feck knows what they are each month just gets more depressing
30 quid for phone
30 quid for broad band
Monthly probably 200 on food maybe more
200 on fuel
Then there is unit rent, business rates, utilities, hikes in ingredient prices hikes in packaging prices and catering to an audience that's thing you were tge anti christ is you put your price up a quid a kilo.
I thank my lucky stars I'm going to inherent a property at some point because otherwise I think I'd be totally f*cked, and I earn what should be wel within the realms of a reasonable wage and is statistically a few grand above average.
Gonna need a new motor soon as well, life just keeps giving eh 😂
