I didn't interpret this as Frank making jokes about suicide. I took it as Frank, in his own way, opening up about going to a dark place with his mental health and having suicidal thoughts.
It can be easier for people to talk about dark times by making light of them. In my opinion it's always better out than in when it comes to struggles with mental health. Particularly for ‘manly men' like Frank.
I have also had experience of these things with a person very close to me and didn't find it offensive in any way.

I suffered a stroke in May and not once contemplated suicide,if anything its made me appreciate life more.Im thankful I'm still alive as I could of been in a really bad way if the clot had travelled only a few mm's more

I'm glad that you are on the mend Bradders, and that it didn't get into your head in that way. I'm not saying that it did for Frank, just my interpretation of what he was saying.
I should also add to 55s I'm not saying you shouldn't have taken offence to what Frank said, everyone is obviously entitled to their own emotions.

I'm not going lie it is hard but there is some amazing support available.I spoke to a lady at the stroke association and she really helped alot,also having an amazing wife and family really helps

Like I say very personal for me, finding my dad hanging in a garage when I was 23.
So whilst I absolutely agree ‘I nearly topped myself' is acceptable or ‘I was in a dark place mentally'
His insistence on the pod cast was that he had all plans in place and would have gone through with it. Even without my experience I would find that offensive. Talking about suicide as a “look at me” is never gonna be helpful.
So many people struggle, so many people go to dark places, and this kind of “bragging” is childish, stupid and dangerous. If he'd said, I tied the noose, and got the step ladders out, made sure the family were out, would that have been OK.
Like I say, very personal to me, but after that I just felt he was so full of self indulgent crap that I wasn't interested anymore. It was a fishing pod cast ffs.

And besides, if you ever are in that dark place, an internet pod cast isn't the appropriate place to speak about it flippantly. its one thing that irks with with videos these days, you cannot control the audience watching, and thus, should approach sensitive topics.....sensitively.
It may not seem like it, but even us speaking about someone else speaking about it could, in some way, be potentially triggering and incase of this I will be leaving the samaritans number at the end of my post. whilst not mental health professionals themselves they will be able to sensitively explain to process to anyone that finds themselves in troubled waters.
No one and I mean no one could ridicule a trigger moment for someone, because they aren't that person.

Bloody hell Tony, had no idea mate, I do hope you are on the mend. We're all that busy going about our everyday lives we don't stop to think about our health much and I'm certainly guilty aswell.

A little story which I have a fond memory around late 90's when I worked for Rentokil and I was visiting one of my customers which was the Ship pub in Styal Cheshire..!!
I had my latest addition of Carp World on the passenger seat in the van I was already fishing Capesthorne...Frank was on the front cover with a capture elsewhere..
I was doing my pest control visit and he walked in with a friend on the back of his Carp fishing trip!!
My jaw dropped instantantly I recognised him I rushed to the van grabbed the magazine and approached him for a signature...he laughed and said nobody had ever asked him to sign anything!!
He welcomed me a young lad then blew my mind when asking my thoughts about Carp Leads and how they performed...haddent a f***king clue..
Got a signed Carp World though....
Love the thinking outside the box on his podcasts he's a gem

The US intelligence authorities are exactly that, masters in disinformation, just read what Richard Doty had to say about that subject. As for the 3 classified videos that were released, they were coming out anyway, they just couldn't keep a lid on it. Watch the long interview with David Fravor where he talks about copies being made of the tic-tac event. The thing with these events and particularly the tic-tac incident, it was actually witnessed by Fravor himself. He strikes me as genuine, comes over well and he was a graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons School so when he described something that was inconsistent with technology of the day then I'm not so sure I'd be doubting him.
The Americans have had this technology for decades, look at TR3B. Hopefully we will get to see it in our life times.
