I have learned more from Forums over the past 15 years than anything in a magazine.
Fermented Maize and Watercraft doesn't put money in the pockets of those who sell drop-off heli's for a living.

If Tom catches a specimen roach from some river out of season, Dick a monster perch from a fly only game reservoir and Harry a well anyway point being nobody gives a toss just good angling but when it's a carp then Jesus a stewards enquiry commences as to the does it count drivel, carp angling has climbed up it's own arse that much when at the end of the day it's just fishing nothing more!

Darrell Peck, Carl & Alex, Tom Maker all have good things to offer in their videos. Then adopt some of their tactics/approaches based on the type of fishing you want to do or where you aim to fish.
I too like to watch others and learn to see if there is something I can add to my game. I mean, can you know it all? Or know enough that works for you?!

You could say the same about every single angler that fished the mere for example, or any other sssi, some say they rub carp fishing through the mud by doing so. In my experience, you do what you have to do to put it in the album, we all take liberties at some point in life and you can't take the picture off of them no matter how they put them in the net.
Like I said previously, I don't look up at them in awe, I admire people who balance a family life, full time job and who still get out and do it, far more personally, but you can't help but respect what all those anglers have caught over the years.

So what you're essentially saying is f**k anyone else, just as long as I get muh pictures, at all costs, even if that means ballsing up the fishing for future anglers regardless; is that what you're saying?

Yes they are im sure up there with the best but they are also just lovely lads and you know why... they are humble a thing sadly lacking with other so called great anglers.

I too admire people who balance a family life, full time job and who still get out and do it, those are the ones that deserve their captures, they are extremely well earned.
A lot of those who have been successful have also been extremely selfish and have either screwed up or put great strain on their families and lost jobs in the process to achieve their goal.

No its plain stupidity,missing out on so much in life for a fish.If that is what some people choose to do so be it but it's not for me,family,fishing,work in that order is my choice
