Have used a few different reels on 10 foot rods. Foolishly sold my cast'izm however then sold my 10 foot rods and got some 9 foot scopes which have a coupl of daiwa theory so 4000a reels on them which are perfect.

I use the very same reels on my 10ft rods, but have added some sexy single handles

just got 3 of these and impressed with them so far. Shouldnt have got rid of my castizms in the summer, but for the price, the Okumas look great.
Brum Angling Direct had stack in this week.

Brilliant boat rods the scopes are.... Running Medium LCs with them moat of the time or if I really need distance I go to the big LCs but rarely use em... The medium LCs a bit heavy for the scopes. Most important is they do exactly what I need them to do.... Friend of mine uses a cheap setup in the likes of the Shimano Sienna 4000 reels on his scopes.... Have to say one thing rate the reel very high it will handle big fish with ease.. Bit smaller spool than the 4000a but sounds like you found a nice balance there bud 👍
