Makes no difference how long you are there. Feel good, fish good, its that simple. Not to mention just how bad some of the processed crap mentioned tastes...

I eat pretty well at home and generally only fish up to two nights at a time. I think it's nice to have something a bit different on the bank and tinned stuff as long as it's not basically dog food is good with me.
I would definitely give that pie a go

Of course you can you silly fanny if you own one but its not the same too much heat loss in an open pan job takes longer and wastes more gas Doh.

Ive read this thread, could people please stop using the word Ginster and pasty in the same sentence, I find this extremely offensive and upsetting..
Lol...
I say this,in the light of PETA,stating we are not allowed to call pets, pets anymore, they are to be known as companions ....
I meant it about Ginsters.....urgggggghhh😏

Imagine how people used to cope before they became popular. People must have used the BBQ sized canisters to warm a pasty.

along with all my other responses to this thread they are laced with sarcasm, I find it amusing that some forum members are that anal about what they eat on the bank and have responded the way they have about a link Gerry posted to cooking a pie in a ridge along with a link to some cheap fillers, my body is not a temple I had a frying pan for many years but the packing space with the unattachable handle gave me many years of anxiety, I hope you understand.

Same here,it's only the fact that it doubled as a tennis racquet that I took one for so many years.

Just for the record, walls pies/ pasties are better than ginsters

The thing is at home
I tend to buy mostly organic stuff and always eat at least 5 bits of fruit a day and I simply love vegetables that I eat tons of and lots of fish I go once a month to billingsgate to stock up with fish and a few kgs of Shrimp only milk I use is Arla BOB fat-free skimmed milk
I probably eat more healthy than most since developing a few health issues in my old age I have lost 2,5 stone and go to the gym 1 to 2 times a week
and when I go fishing its all about convenience and a couple of days of eating a tin or 2 of beef and spuds or curry will do me no harm what so ever I will use low fat pastry sheets when I do me pie and will certainly taste a lot better than pot bloody noodles
Im in my mid 70s still fishing 48 to 72 hour sessions driving 300 mile round trips to fish so eating tinned food a few times a month hasnt done me any harm

a stagg chilli and a can of all day breakfast never hurt anyone. Biscuits are my downfall at the moment

I agree... its not that its in a can that makes it unhealthy
I think if you made a canned meal and fresh meal with exactly the same ingredients you would get a very similar nutritional profile.
