There is an entire difference between "caring" for the animal we pursue for entertainment and downright subjecting it to unnecessary risk.
There's a reason we use propolis, mats, lead clip systems, breakaway hook links, all these items are configured to maximise the quarry's safety in a relatively stressful situation.
There's very good reason that we do our best to minimise undue stress and "the hook argument" doesn't address the fundamental problem with this gadget.
This device is such a solid step back from what we have moved to. Fishing happens, that's the bottom line but we try and be as humane as we possibly can be, hence all the creativity to be so. But, this device is an absolute horror. It leaves a 2 inch plastic anchor fixed to the hook length when things go wrong. Where's the break point? Where's the drop off? All the things we have become used to, safety on a safe rig. But why? Why is there such risk? Has Ali and crew become so blinded to create this item that the safety aspect has been lost on the way? Is it a desperation?
The actual item won't even achieve its real intended aim for the reasons we've all previously discussed and, if it was safe, that would be sort of acceptable. But it isn't, it leaves such a danger on the hook length - the poor animals won't have a chance attached to that trying to squeeze between tree roots in their normal habitat or pushing through dense weed beds.
If anyone can't see this, I'm at an absolute loss - the sport has taken a wrong turn and simply saying "well don't use hooks" creates an argument that is weak and without substance.

ali hamidi messaged me a few weeks on the eve of this being released after I raised my view on the safety aspects of this device....I only replied tonight when I came across the message again whilst looking for someone in my contacts on messnger...I wasn't abusive tonight,far from it...here's his reply

We have data and usage and ticks in all boxes otherwise it would never have come out. Please remember I faced similar abuse when I was the front man heralding the Goo 12 years ago! It was called “drain cleaner”, would harm fish, blah blah, but look what happened? So whilst I appreciate your concerns, we shared the same perspective on design elements and used it and have caught literally hundreds of carp all perfect, no tears, no damage and flawless performance. Don't judge a book by just it's appearance, actually use something in a fishing situation to gauge true results.

Imagine being a field tester for him. Dare to highlight any potential issues or give constructive feedback, he would just shoot you down. I'd imagine his "field testers" tell him what he wants to hear to keep him sweet. Prob happens a hell of alot in carp fishing to be honest. Field testers too afraid to question a product for fear of being booted out or disliked by their gaffa.
