Test done truly horrible experience sticking a swab down the back of your throat and as far up your nose as you can get.So many people there waiting what a sad and horrible thing we are experiencing and truly puts everything in perspective,justvto know I've not been flouting the rules,wash my hands regularly etc.Stay safe people and il keep you posted

I no of a syndicate lake that in the second weekend of lockdown that held a match and has had his mates fishing (not bailiffs so no reason to be there)I'm glad I gave my ticket up this year.DISGRACEFULL!!!! And when 2 members questioned it they had their ticket taken off them.TOTAL W#####

Hey Sir, I do understand where you're coming from, but I do think different hobbies have different considerations based on the ability to self isolate, as has already been hinted upon by the government
If we have to wait until all hobbies are allowed, for example going to a festival with thousands of others, then it's going to be a while
And this all based on the assumption that social distancing is happening, which clearly is not to the extent I thought it was. If your hobby is going to the pub to chat with your mates then you just have to drive to the co-op instead

The government has laid out it's 5 tests which must be achieved before easing of the lockdown. One of the tests is the R number, infection rates must remain under 1. It's currently at 0.7 because of the lockdown in place. Any changes to the lockdown may take that
R number back up and all the consequences that follow we now know. Big call to make to differentiate between hobbies when there's more at stake.

If one of those tests fail it'll got back to the prior one I'm led believe. This is the route the Irish government is taking I heard on talkcrap radio. Problem is you know whats going to happen with all sports regardless.
The moment the restriction is partially lifted it'll be rammed with bellends doing socials not just fishing.. This year the only day tickets I'm doing you need to book. Last year just got so p'd off with people casting over my lines and invading my swim with stupid questions.
There are a couple of club lakes near me. But again it'll be rammed.

Not all fishing is done in isolation. Not realistic to say if you fish for carp bivvied up with a season ticket in isolation, crack on. But contact to buy a day ticket, having a chat and few cuppas with a mate or a salmon guide is off limits. Too many loopholes and difficulties.
As important as fishing may seem to an angler, no government has the time and resources to go categorising and policing different angling disciplines or the people that would suddenly take up the hobby to get out of the house. So it's banned

I've just had a brilliant idea!
We can really come out of this in some style. Save for the pandemic in England getting worse and basing the plan upon the R keeping below 1, coarse fishing begins on June 16th 2020.
Fishery owners and managers will put in place distancing measures although we should all be used to that by now. Everyone will know where we are and what to head towards. We take control of our fishing and not allow the absolutely blatant fact that coarse fishing is THE most appropriate way to lift lockdown measures and not contribute towards rising the R.
It'll be just like old times. Let the millennials have a feeling of waiting and the pleasure of midnight on the 15th.

Some day tickets round here have machines and you pay online for 24hrs.
I like the idea use contactless etc.. upon entry so no ticket is handed over. I guess it's down to the bailiffs to proove they've taken all precautions. Like you say everyone will take it up just to get out... "pest control" by the way hasnt been blocked. Amazing the amount of rifle fire I hear nowadays

thank you for taking the time to get in touch on fishing, which I know is a really important pastime for many people in Mid-Sussex. I have read the “When we Fish Again” report and have had several constituents get in touch on the matter and I want to provide you with the latest information I have.
Going fishing or engaging in any extensive sporting activities, excluding daily exercise, is currently classified as not an essential reason to leave the house and therefore the current social distancing measures put in place by the Government restrict this. Currently, engaging in sporting activities is currently judged as increasing the risk of spreading the virus as it creates more opportunities for people to be in contact with each other and opening these only appeals to more people to leave the house.
These measures are under constant review and I know my colleague the Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden MP has been in constant communication with the various sporting bodies across the country. As and when Government social distancing measures are relaxed, we will begin to see various activities being allowed to resume as a long as they are adjudge to be safe to do so.
I will of course be supporting the resumption of fishing and the reopening of local lakes and ponds when it is deemed safe to do so. The Government's priority has always been to protect our citizens, businesses, NHS and economy – and this will continue to drive the steps we take in the coming weeks and months. The aim is to stretch out the curve of the peak to ensure our public services can cope, with the minimal level of economic impact possible. Any steps taken to relaxing social distancing measures, including the resumption of casual sporting activities, will only happen once we can be certain it is safe to do so.
