Say it TC. This one's a bit different to the usual niggles. You've got more sway than the rest of us. You're highly respected and put things across in a very straightforward manner.

Go a bit further in to the whole crack off thing, it's a metal spring which won't degrade or potentially snap like elastic would. I get that design wise this is exactly why they use it but cmon, having the worst case fail safe of the device breaks apart and leaves the arms behind would surely have been a good idea?

I would also add that when buying items from now on if a tackle company is stocking these products I may consider taking my money elsewhere..

Firstly i dont agree with any self hooking contraptions, but putting this aside, as I see it the reason for the fins is to hold /set the spring loaded mechanism,
This could be designed with out the need for fins, would this cost of money in development , yes no doubt, but it could be done, very similar deign but locks a slightly different way.
Just thinking off the top of my head cylindercal casing that locks with out the need for fins could be designed, there are other items which lock for other purposes ( not in fishing) a very small ball bearing on s spring, similar to the idea of bales cabinet latch could be incorporated and I'm sure other less dangerous things could be designed. Or even if you must use fins ones that detach totally upon activation, he could then sell the spare fins and make even more money.
Or the best option,one i prefer is.... Hold your hand up say you got so caught up in the making of the rig, the safety factor was totally over looked and you got it so wrong,

Firstly all other bungee type rigs do not snap back like a rat trap .
Secondly lots of fishery owners are back tracking and getting twitchy as most of the target money spenders may well want to use it 🤔
Thirdly my no publicity water has no banned it , because they don't need to 😉

Looked on Facebook earlier and noticed a lot more lakes have banned it since release.
Also read some nod moaning that he had to pva tape the rig before every cast and was winding it in triggered!

Tell you what this ain't half great at weeking out the fishery owners who don't have a clue. See that French lake that have tested it and can't find anything wrong. They tested it by casting it in the weed and seeing of it snagged up. That's it. Didn't snag up, safe to use. Nobody has suggested that is a safety concern. Are these people just complete idiots?

I've just watched that video. The plastic seems to bend like the cap on a biro. No way is that snapping off. If it catches on anything the carps lip is taking all the strain not an inch of spring.

It's the memory in the plastic as well. Once stretched back it stays stretched back.....in exactly the shape of my castable weed rake!!!
