biggest difference for me and the reason I will own both by the end of this week is I fish rivers a lot with steep sloping banks with little or no bushes or trees just flat fields where the wind and rain can really get up a speed and a brolly system that you can lower down comes into its own
a taller bivvy profile gets battered to hell
but I am hoping to start fishing very close to home on a lake this coming summer with nice flat pegs with lots of bushes and trees so the Spider will be perfect

Did you get the mag loc mozzi front Gerry? That is the only thing that the brolly is missing as I don't like using a solid front but at times I do like to have a mozzi mesh as I get destroyed by the little buggers. Messaged Solar directly asking are they doing one and the response was quite vague so no idea of it is in the pipeline or not, and for that reason alone I have considered the Spider.

I edited it as I found out about the spider mozzy front and for £34.99 delivered I ordered it too lol
yes shame they dont do a purpose front for the brolly as yet
but
I have a couple of universal mozy meshes got an original Beehive one and a JRC Defender Brolly Multi-Fit Mozzi Front one somewhere too used them from large 2 man bivvies to 55 inch brollys in the past

I did read the post (you didn't say you had ordered the mesh, just that it was available), which is why I asked as been tempted before and that is as good a price as I have seen so even more tempted now

yes Im easily swayed with a bargain ha ha and I didnt say as the post was getting longer and longer lol but for a measily £35 quid was a no brainer doubt I will ever use the bivvy down the river
but will use the Spider down my local lake for certain

Very tempted to get one of these but also like the look of the Nash Titan Hide. Only thing that puts me off the Nash tho is the price and the groundsheet and infill come as separates.

BIG difference in height !! the hide is very low 132cm as opposed to the Undercover brolly at 150cm
its quite a bit deeper though 180cm as opposed to 150cm

almost ideal..
in the video the man said the bedchair was touching the sides though, was that an extra long bedchair or is it a squeeze for all bedchairs .
It would stress me out if my sleeping bag and pillow was touching the sides.

but it states the width is 264cm ?
so in theory should be plenty of room unless Solar are wrong in their sizes ? but that would not be a surprise and its not as if its possible to set it up wrong

Personally I always put my bedchair to the side, because I hate my pillow sliding off my bed.
