I post a few capture pics now and again nothing like I used to more so because I cannot be bothered as much anymore.
I will document a few in a little over a weeks time as I'm fishing a friends lake in France for the first time, he has had it a few years now and it is mostly his European kinsmen visiting, as it is basically not really known about much over here I'll pop a few on here if were lucky enough to catch some its only a shortish drive from Calais of two and a half hours.
The fish look like something out of a UK Estate lake.

For me this thread is relevant to FB. FB brings out the worst in people. So much toxicity, so many ****s. Most of them would be nice as pie if you met them on the bank. It's a very sad state of affairs.
BUT...... Instagram is different imo. I share images on Insta and check it almost every day to see wonderful images from others. It's a fantastic platform imo. Can't recall seeing one single row or insult on there tbh (but I tend to follow individuals rather than the group accounts where the toxicity seems to manifest).

Instagram is defo a nicer platform, apart from the stupid amounts of adverts...

Well back at work this morning following a week at my friends newish lake in France he's had it since 2018 but was due to open March 2020 after stocking and feeding program as you can imagine he lost most of that years bookings and we were going June 2021 which turned into June 2022 because of covid restrictions, he also had to do some works to the track and swims remove tons of bramble bushes and trees etc...
Five of us fished as a group from the UK as one lad caught covid the week before and never made the trip he was supposed to fish with his mate who hasn't had a lot of experience at fishing from boats etc..so my mate fished with him in swim one which also meant they had all of swim two's water as the other pairing opted for swim four the other end of the lake which meant I had swim three near the facilities in the middle with about ten acres of water to investigate, on arrival my mate Kris greeted us as he had just done a week with his buddy from Belgium he said it had been fishing very difficult with the fish seeming hard on the naturals they had done a couple of fish all week, we all managed to catch although not fishing well still for our week I managed five with one of the pairs in swim four managing nine or ten between them and the boys in swim one managed five between them, it was fish on the bank so all were happy.
The carp in the main are German/Croatian crosses and very young stocked in winter of 2018 at around 6 to 8lb I believe these are mostly averaging anywhere between 30 to 40lb one or two have done better than that, they have been successful at breeding in the lake with plenty of 20lb C4's and doubles at C2/C3's he also stocked some French fish from a local fish farm at between 30 to mid 50's the one common was caught in 2020 at 35lb then again 2021 at 50lb and so far this year hasn't been out they are piling on the weight.
Facilities are serviceable for a drive and survive with toilet/shower/social area all running on a 3000w solar system which was also charging our 12 volt 110ah boat batteries phones etc.. the social area is basically a covered outside space so is never going to be spic and span as its the outdoors under a covered roof space with BBQ and fridge freezer, the cost reflects this at 1600 euros for a complete lake booking which will accommodate eight anglers on four swims fishing in pairs, Ideally I would say six anglers fishing as we did would be perfect with all swims then getting a good eight to ten acres to play with, there are crayfish but I think they are getting smashed by the carp as we didnt really get bothered the odd hookbait nibbled but still came back in after 20 odd hours with most not being touched.

What really is grinding my gears of late is the social media ‘stars' posting every last poor little fish.
I like and understand big fish, personal milestones, lookers but I won't name the worst offender but do we really need to see every 13lb common with a sponsors name on the hat? If that good fish care, especially in the recent heat?
Once you've caught a few, I believe you, if you say you've had 6 doubles, 3 twenties - well done. Unhook them in the net if possible (barbless waters it's a dream) lift it up, have a look and the best fish care is about understanding the stress of net to mat-mat to sling hoist up on scales, hold up and photo - sling then home!
The couple of things of late made me realise how shocking some of these guys are. Firstly I had a good fish and wanted a photo, so gave my phone to another angling and asked for a quick pic - he said weigh it first - I explained that I never do as find it quicker and easier to unhook - photo - in sling weigh and home. Digital pictures are free, not like the old days, plus if it weighed 29 or 32 there would be no difference the actual outcome.
The Sunday I had a fish that I thought was around 18-19lb the owner had netted it for me - when I bent down, slipped out the hook and let it go he said - what? You've just let a mid twenty go I reckon - it may have been but I loved the experience just as much as if I had a slimey t shirt and drying out carp.

I totally understand where you are coming from, although in my case I don't photograph every fish, even though I will weigh it.
At Nazeing I caught a 28lb common, Friday the 13th of all days after an absolute nightmare of a day at work. I had a mate do a series of pics, happy days. Later I had a 23lb common, weighed and returned unphotographed.
I don't need pics of every fish, even if I weigh it.

That's fair enough - I'm talking social monsters who post every darn fish, I just don't get it, scenic shot of the lake and good day, a few doubles, means more to me thay some 12lb er that's out in 90 degree heat to convince us to use green split shot and size 6 fangs....
