Of course it's twaddle. Maybe right wing thinking is too basic and assumes that anyone who disagrees with it is left wing.
Being opposed to a repetitive Tory ideology of maintaining the gap between an 'elite' and the disadvantaged - inherent in years of Tory education policy - is where many teachers in mainstream find themselves. And it's not just the Conservative party. Blairs education, education, education soundbite had a distinctly Tory undercurrent - the abolition of student grants to be replaced by student loans as an example.
Lots of gross generalisations about teachers here. And some truths. It is legislation that dictates whole school approaches to exclusions. However, I don't know any individual teachers who are happy to turn a blind eye to bullying.
Maybe if you want a right wing example to follow, you could look at Boris and his reaction to the priti Patel issue. Inquiry finds her guilty of bullying and breaking ministerial code. He simply says I don't agree and let's her carry on in a key parliamentary role. The story reached its peak during 'anti-bullying week' by the way....

Plenty of teachers turned a blind eye years ago, sadly I saw this with a few kids when I was at school.

When one of my daughters was at school she was a school buddy, someone other kids could talk to if they had problems, does this sort of thing still exist?

So you kept the other one at home to shadow the missus? Touché. The rubbish doesn't take itself out and once they can't move the appliances to clean behind them you're stuck with a depreciating asset.
Got to lol at martial arts and a kick in the face being the answer to bullying. Maybe cuddling in a cage martial arts; you want them to learn discipline, respect and self control. It's self defence, not enter the bloody dragon.
You could learn a few holds in several martial arts that would tie this bully in knots, there's no need for these young girls to be exchanging blows ffs. But that's not even the point, a better person will defuse a situation peacefully and use self defence as a last resort.

If she's just started then D of E stuff is a while off yet, but it's worth looking at activities she might enjoy that fit the criteria for that. We've focused on martial arts so far, and probably made it sound a bit macho, it really isn't the case at most clubs.
Any activity that encourages her to assert herself is a benefit, if it involves a bit of rough and tumble all the better

These things are massive in martial arts, sure they'll make someone able to respond through muscle memory alone, but none of the kids at my daughters club went off the rails. One kid had a fight at school and ended up doing fitness drills on his own in the corner for a month.
I've seen my daughter in arguments, pressing her point but staying calm, but when you look at the body position you just know you ain't gotta worry about her getting hit, and I know she isn't going to escalate it

This is about a young girl being picked on by some horrible **** that is making her life hell. A lot of kids don't want to fight, it's frightens them, as if they are not worried enough ffs. I think it's disgraceful that a child should go to school in this day and age and have to put up with this behaviour, Internet is something else ( don't go on it), real life is out of order. It needs a proper push and it needs backing from the government. If bully's are playing up at school and any other ****ing scrotum, throw them out, job done, if they want to come back, make their **** wit parents apply
